The Jean Tweed Centre, a community based treatment centre for women with substance use, mental health and gambling problems. We are looking for a full time cook for our residential setting. This position reports to the Property Manager.
Responsibilities: - Prepare, cook and serve meals in consultation with the Property Manager, according to Canada’s Food Guide and budget. - Daily cleaning and tidying of the kitchen area (dishes, cutlery, etc.) to the Department of Health Standards of Hygiene - Maintain kitchen equipment in good working condition by regular, scheduled cleaning, including freezers. - Complete weekly inventory. Put away groceries, rotate stock, check expiration dates, etc. - Create a welcoming environment for residents in a professional manner
Required Qualifications: - One year experience cooking daily for 30 to 50 people - Food Handlers Certificate - Ability to communicate effectively verbally and written - Energetic, self-motivated and team player - Ability to work under pressure with minimum supervision - Valid drivers license and use of own vehicle
