Dixon Hall’s Inaugural Walk and Roll Challenge: Celebrating Community Support
TORONTO, June 22, 2024 – Dixon Hall hosted its inaugural Walk and Roll Challenge at the Regent Park Athletic Ground with enthusiastic participation from community members, including special guest MPP Kristyn Wong-Tam and Dixon Hall CEO, Mina Mawani.
Participants walked and rolled distances of 1 km, 2 km, and 5 km at the tracks while being cheered on by friends, family, volunteers and staff on the sidelines. The event was followed by a BBQ organized by Metro as part of the ‘Savour Summer Saturdays’ initiative, providing a delicious meal for all those in attendance. The fun filled event focused on physical activity, truly enjoying the Summer months, it also underlined Dixon Hall’s mission of assisting seniors and addressing isolation in the community. The BBQ was also attended by Councillor Chris Moise, who encouraged everyone to continue supporting the seniors and thanked Metro and Dixon Hall for all that they do in the community to nurture well-being.
