Housing Preparation and Support Worker - Full-time

Dixon Hall Neighbourhood Services is a multi-service agency located in the heart of downtown East Toronto. Reporting to the Manager, Housing Services, or such other persons as deemed necessary by the agency, the Housing Preparation and Support Worker works to assess and identify clients for long term housing through counselling, referral and outreach. Once clients have been housed, the Housing Preparation and Support Worker continues to provide housing access, support and follow up services with a focus on the long-term success of the client in their housing.

Reporting to the Manager of Community Development, the Food Access Worker is responsible for the operation of food programming within the Rooming House Project. The Food Access Worker will work with peers, volunteers and tenants of the Rooming Houses and food access partners, to reduce barriers to healthy food. The Food Access Worker will facilitate cooking, life skills groups, assist with coordination of peers and volunteers, recruit tenants to programs, skills training and conduct health promotion activities related to food access, food security and healthy eating.
