Dixon Hall Ratifies New Four-Year Collective Agreement with CUPE Local 2497

Toronto, ON: On April 22, 2025, Dixon Hall ratified a new four-year collective agreement with Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) Local 2497, following the union’s ratification on April 9, 2025. The agreement covers the period from April 1, 2023, to March 31, 2027, and reflects our commitment to a fair, sustainable, and equitable workplace for all unionized employees.

The agreement resulted from nearly two years of extensive and respectful negotiations, and it includes meaningful updates that support workforce retention, operational clarity, and staff well-being across all programs. It also reflects our shared commitment to equity, operational stability, and the continued delivery of critical services throughout Dixon Hall. 

Key highlights of the 2023–2027 agreement include:

  • Wage increases of:
    • 3.5% effective April 1, 2023
    • 3.0% effective April 1, 2024
    • 3.0% effective April 1, 2025
    • 3.0% effective April 1, 2026
  • Retroactive pay for all eligible members within 30 days of ratification.
  • Increased shift premium of $1.00/hour for overnight work (11:30 PM to 7:30 AM).
  • Updated travel reimbursement and meal allowances, including TTC fare and increased bicycle allowance.
