Dixon Hall Hosts Third Annual Walk & Roll Challenge in Support of Seniors

June 20, 2026, community members, staff, and donors gathered for Dixon Hall’s Third Annual Walk & Roll Challenge, a day dedicated to raising awareness and funds for seniors living in Downtown East Toronto.
The event is part of Dixon Hall’s ongoing goal to raise $25,000 in support of programs and services that help older adults remain connected, supported, and thriving in their communities. Every step, roll, donation, and shared message contributes to vital services that make a meaningful difference in the lives of local seniors.
Participants of all ages came together to walk, roll, cheer one another on, and celebrate the power of community connection. The event highlighted the importance of ensuring seniors have access to nutritious meals, transportation, social activities, and personalized support that enable them to live independently and with dignity.

“Today is about coming together as a community, getting active, having fun, and making a meaningful difference in the lives of seniors in Downtown East Toronto,” said Janet Lambert, Interim CEO of Dixon Hall. “It’s wonderful to see this incredible day of community spirit. Thank you for walking, rolling, cheering each other on, and celebrating the power of connection.”
The impact of community support extends far beyond the event itself. In the past year alone, Dixon Hall’s Seniors Services team delivered more than 65,000 Meals on Wheels, provided over 7,400 rides to appointments, supported 2,200 hours of case management, and facilitated more than 21,000 hours of recreational and social activities.
These essential services supported more than 1,300 older adults, helping them maintain their independence, build connections, and access the resources they need to age well in their community.
“Behind every meal, ride, and program is a person who feels more connected, more supported, and more able to continue living independently,” added Lambert. “The generosity shown through events like Walk & Roll helps make these life-changing services possible.”
Thank you to everyone who contributed to the success of the event, including donors, staff, and community members. Whether walking, rolling, cheering from the sidelines, or helping behind the scenes, every individual played a role in creating a memorable and impactful day.
