Dixon Hall Celebrates Five Years of the Bill Graham Youth Centre
September 15, 2026 — Five years ago, the Bill Graham Youth Centre opened its doors in the heart of Regent Park. Yesterday, Dixon Hall gathered with donors, and supporters for a special High Tea to celebrate the milestone and reflect on the journey that brought the Centre to life.
The afternoon brought together many of the people who have been part of that journey, including Vivien Dzau, Bob Rae, Neil Hetherington, Kevin Malone, Patrick Gossage, Mitchell Cohen, Heela Omarkhail and Thompson Egbo-Egbo.
It was a chance to reconnect, share memories and celebrate what the Centre has become over the past five years. What began as a vision for a dedicated space for young people has grown into a lasting community asset that welcomes more than 1,000 youth from across Downtown East Toronto each year.
The Bill Graham Youth Centre was part of Dixon Hall’s Capital Campaign, supported by generous donors who believed in the importance of investing in a dedicated space for young people in the community.
Today, the Centre provides young people with a welcoming space to learn, connect, build skills and take part in programs and activities.
Five years on, the building represents more than bricks and walls. It represents what can happen when a community comes together around a shared vision and invests in a space that can serve young people for years to come.
As we mark this five-year milestone, we’re grateful to all the donors, supporters and community members who have been part of the Centre’s journey and its place in Downtown East Toronto.
We look forward to seeing the Centre continue to grow as a space where young people can connect, learn and build their futures for many years to come.
