For Mary, an 87 year-old senior living alone in a St. Lawrence area apartment,
Last year was the first holiday season she spent on her own since her husband passed away.
Mary had no family left and very few friends living close by. She was truly alone, which is difficult at any time of the year, but particularly during the holiday season.
Our caring volunteers really made a difference for Mary. Not only did they deliver a delicious hot turkey dinner to her on Christmas day, but they also took the time to visit Mary and make sure all was well with her.
For many of our seniors who are alone and isolated, the volunteers who deliver their meals are often the brightest part of their day.
