Our Settlement Service workers help newcomers adjust to life in Canada by connecting them to social and professional networks, as well as providing the information and resources they need to live and work in Canada.
We’re here to support a wide range of newcomers and community members. Based on the guidelines set by our funders, our services are available to:
- Canadian Citizens
- Permanent Residents
- Convention Refugees
- Protected Persons
- International Students
- Temporary Foreign Workers
- Visitors
Personalized meetings with a Settlement Worker to assess individual needs and create tailored Settlement Plans to help ease the transition into life in Canada.
Connection to essential resources and services that newcomers are eligible for, including referrals to appropriate community agencies.
Help with understanding and completing forms and navigating application processes.
Services are offered in English, Urdu, Saraiki, and Bengali, Farsi, Arabic, and include one-on-one counselling, conversation circles, relevant workshops, help with making informed decisions about life in Canada, and translation and interpretation services.
- Community Connections: Programs that build knowledge about life in Ontario and Canada, boosting confidence and aiding faster, smoother settlement.
- Social Programming: Activities that reduce isolation, encourage networking, promote cross-cultural understanding, and foster new friendships.
- English Conversation Circles: Practice English in a supportive, informal group setting.
- Basic Digital Literacy: Enhance digital skills for everyday needs like online applications and form-filling.
- Citizenship Preparation Workshops
- Financial Literacy Sessions: Understand banking and develop healthy financial habits.
